Mining Claim surveys can be complicated to retrace. Overlapping claims, physically demanding conditions, complicated research, and very old or even absent monumentation are typical. But at Zenith Land Surveying, we take on these challenges with pride and vigor. Extensive and detailed research is a necessary aspect of any mining claim retracement to determine the nature of the overlapping claims and how those overlaps affect the title to the subject property. Often the result is a puzzle of multiple crisscrossing pieces of property. Many mining claim corners were typically originally marked by chiseled stones that were set in place in the 1800’s. The stone monuments mark the corner locations of the original surveys. Therefore, the recovery of these original stone monuments is a crucial aspect of all mining claim re-surveys. The stones are often difficult to identify, but taking the time and effort to do so is what makes the results of a mining claim retracement survey accurate and reliable.
